A Sense of Place: Photography and Film-Making Workshops
Delivered by a tutor from Northwest Lifelong Learning Association (NWLLA). Participants will develop photography and filming skills producing short films capturing the unique beauty of the Roe Valley area, and thereby expressing a "sense of place".
The workshops are open to everyone regardless of experience.
Cameras and filming equipment provided but people are encouraged to bring their own.
Please bring suitable clothing and footwear for walking and working outdoors.

Weekly from Wednesday 16 August to Wednesday 6 September.

A Sense of Place: Creative Writing Workshops
​These workshops will be delivered by an experienced writer/tutor from Big Telly Theatre Company tbc.

Participants will work in small groups to write modern updates of the local legends and folktales which define our area and contribute to a “sense of place”. The stories will be recorded and shared.

A Sense of Place: Yarn-Spinning (Storytelling) Workshops
Delivered by experienced storytellers Liz Weir and Madeline McCully with the aim of encouraging storytelling in the Roe Valley area.
We will build on our rich tradition of storytelling as we explore our "sense of place" in the 21st century. People of all ages and experience should come along to discover and develop their own storytelling skills.

A Sense of Place: Song Writing Workshops with Paddy Nash
Young people aged 15+ will work with renowned local musician Paddy Nash to create and perform a song and video which expresses their "sense of place".
He has released four albums and has toured Europe and America with over thirty years of experience in the music industry. He has worked with many different groups including schools, community groups and digital media hubs. He has delivered song writing workshops and, using 'Nashman Productions', music videos to accompany the original material created.

All levels of ability are welcome. If you do play an instrument, bring it along!

Booking essential. For ages 15 years and older.

There will be no workshop on 9 August.
