Festival of Learning Events to be held in Libraries in June 2017

Festival of Learning 2017

Libraries across Northern Ireland will be hosting a programme of events during June to mark this year’s Festival of Learning, giving you the opportunity to learn something new.

34 public libraries will participate in the month’s programme and are looking forward to opening their doors to anyone who is interested in learning more. An impressive 84 events are being held and include art workshop, yoga, poetry reading, creative dance, talk by Beano artist, Belfast Blitz monologue, jewellery workshop, Kumihimo (Japanese braiding) and flower arranging.

The Festival of Learning is for everyone! Whether you already love to learn, are thinking about having a go at learning something new or are involved in organising learning activities for others, take part in the Festival of Learning celebrations being held in a library near you.

Paul Kelly, Senior Information and Learning Services Manager with Libraries NI, said:

“Libraries NI is very excited to be part of the Festival of Learning this year as adult learning is an important part of what we do and the services we offer to library users. Libraries are the ideal place to help you kick-start your learning journey, offering a welcoming and relaxed environment where people can learn at their own speed and ability, with helpful staff on hand to offer support if needed.”
