Get Online Week is back! From 2 - 8 October, Libraries NI will host a
programme of events in local libraries, showing people how the internet can
make life easier, cheaper, healthier and more fun!
Get Online Week 2017 will see many events across Northern Ireland help
people get the most from the internet, by helping them to ‘Try 1 Thing’ – by
using the internet to do just one thing that they haven’t had the skills or
confidence to try before.
It could be their first online shopping experience or video call with
friends or relatives, setting up online banking, booking a GP appointment,
claiming benefits or applying for a job online.
Get Online Week is the UK’s biggest annual digital inclusion campaign,
and will see events in community venues
– including libraries, Jobcentres and more – with friendly staff and
volunteers helping people to take their next step toward being a confident,
capable and safe user of the internet.
Libraries NI events will include free Go ON computer sessions and
one-to-one e-Clinics in branch libraries and other venues.
Go ON is an exciting programme which allows people to find out more
about using computers in a relaxed library environment, with experienced staff
on hand to help. Go ON sessions are free but you must be a library member to
participate. With free library membership for everyone, book your place today.
