Libraries NI celebrates Festival of Learning 2018

Festival of Learning 2018

Libraries across Northern Ireland will be hosting an extensive programme of events to mark this year’s Festival of Learning from Friday 1 June.

The month long programme will see over 130 free events taking place in libraries including arts and craft workshops, jewellery making, poetry readings, music and dance events, Kumihimo (Japanese braiding), social media and iPad introductory sessions.

The Festival of Learning has something for everyone; whether you already love to learn, are thinking about learning something new or are involved in organising learning activities for others. So if you want to keep your mind active or, learn with others from your community, then visit a library close to you to take part in this year’s Festival of Learning.

Jim O’Hagan, Chief Executive of Libraries NI, said:

“Libraries NI is proud to once again be involved in the Festival of Learning with over 60 branches hosting free, fun and informative adult learning activities. Awareness and access to learning opportunities are vital to support and maintain active, healthy lifestyles and the relaxed, welcoming environment of your local library is an ideal place to learn new skills.”
