Description
To mark the 220th anniversary of the Belfast Harp Festival, Belfast Central Library presents Arthur O’Neill and the Belfast Harp Festival.
Eugene Dunphy presents an illustrated talk on the life of the blind harper Arthur O’Neill and his significant role at the Belfast Harpers Assembly of 1792. Harp recitals performed from a selection of beautiful airs from Edward Bunting’s ‘Ancient Music of Ireland’ followed by Belfast’s first unveiling of a portrait of Arthur O’Neill painted by the artist Stephen Burgess. Event will be held in the 2nd floor in Belfast Central Library.
