An Evening of Ugandan Culture – in Falls Road Library


Libraries NI will be supporting Refugee Week 2012 with an Evening of Ugandan Culture event in Falls Road Library, on Thursday 21st June at 6.30pm.

Refugee Week takes place from 18th – 24th June 2012 and is a UK-wide programme of arts, cultural and educational events and activities that celebrates the contribution of refugees and promotes better understanding of why people seek sanctuary.

The theme of Refugee Week is ‘Different Pasts, Shared Future’ and Falls Road Library is delighted to be holding this event to allow people to experience Ugandan Culture, with a dance and drumming demonstration, as well as a workshop presented by Donna Namukasa .

Hundreds of events and activities are organised by agencies, groups, schools, museums, cinemas, galleries and libraries - for details of these events, go to www.refugeeweek.org.uk

Admission to the event is free and refreshments will be provided.
