Libraries NI is delighted that Lurgan Library was the venue for a very special book launch on Monday 6
th June, when the BBC Northern Ireland’s Mark Adair launched
“It’s A Mystery”, a booklet produced by children from the library’s two book clubs.
“It’s A Mystery” is the third booklet produced by the children’s book clubs, the Bookworms and the Cookie Club – and is a mixture of stories, poems and drawings by the boys and girls in these groups, who range in age from 10 - 12
The BBC NI’s Head of Corporate and Community Affairs, Mark Adair officiated at the launch of the book, in the company of many Libraries NI staff and representatives, along with the proud parents and families of the young authors of the booklet.
During the launch two children from each book club read extracts of the booklet for the delighted audience and then each child was presented with their own copy. The evening event concluded with refreshments for all invited guests.
Speaking at the launch Deirdre Breen, Lurgan Branch Library Manager, said:
“Thanks to all the children from the Bookworms and the Cookie Club, who attend a monthly book club in the library and took time out to write their entries for the “It’s a Mystery” booklet.
We are delighted to welcome Mark Adair to Lurgan Library for the launch of this booklet, which is the culmination of hard work, effort and fun had by the children of our two library book clubs.”
Copies of “It’s a Mystery” are now available to read or borrow in Lurgan Library.
