Invitation to Digital Film Events – in Killyleagh Library

Libraries NI has announced that Killyleagh Library will be holding a series of three lunchtime events, “Take 30”, in the New Year, which will take a nostalgic look at the past through the medium of digital film.

These three events will each take place from 1.15pm - 1.45pm.

The first of these will focus on The Linen Industry and will take place on Friday 27th January.

The second of these will examine footage of World War 2 on Friday 24th February.

And the final event in the programme will look at The Belfast Shipyards and Titanic, on Friday 23rd March.

These films have been taken from the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission’s Digital Film Archive (DFA) which is now available for public use and is a free resource for researchers, students, historians and anyone who has an interest in moving images. This Digital Film Archive (DFA) contains 55 hours of moving images about Northern Ireland from 1897-2000.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome to enjoy these lunchtime events, but booking is essential as places are limited.

You can contact Killyleagh Library (High Street, BT30 9QF) on telephone number: 028 4482 8407 or email: killyleagh.library@librariesni.org.uk
