Parents and children received some extra homework help at Antrim Library on Friday 2
nd June from Encyclopædia Britannica.
Families and children took part in the “homework help” session, which showed young learners how to fully use the facilities available in the library and how to research safely on the internet.
The interactive presentation included a 40 minute live demonstration of the Britannica Online Junior edition’s popular features, a question and answer session and some free time for families to log onto the library’s computers and try the facilities for themselves.
The session also discussed how students can expand on their research and understand the differences between Google, Wikpedia and other research methods.
Encyclopædia Britannica currently provides all of its content free of charge to library users, both in the library itself and remotely, via a library membership card.
