Launch of Tullycarnet Yarnspinners new 2009/10 programme

The popular Tullycarnet Yarnspinners will launch their new season’s brochure in Tullycarnet Library at 11.00 am on Thursday 3 September.

Ms Irene Knox, Chief Executive of the recently formed Libraries NI, will officially introduce the new programme. Tullycarnet Yarnspinners have always enjoyed the support of the Library Service and Chairman Mrs Peg Armstrong is delighted that the new province wide service of Libraries NI will continue to help the Yarnspinners in their work of upholding the ancient art of storytelling.

The newly elected Mayor of Castlereagh, Cllr Lawrence Walker, will also attend. It has been the tradition over many years for the new Mayor to come to the launch of the Yarnspinners brochure and Mayor Walker will receive a warm welcome in Tullycarnet Library.

Mairead Ferguson, Senior Culture Librarian and coordinator of Tullycarnet Yarnspinners is confident that the new programme will be well received by the discerning Yarnspinners audiences. A blend of storytellers from around Ireland will come to the library from September 2009 –May 2010. Some popular favourites will be making a welcome return to Tullycarnet and there are a few new surprises as well.

The new brochure will be available at the launch and copies will be in local libraries and other outlets after Thursday 3 September.

Vivien Marshall, Branch Library Manager and the staff of Tullycarnet Library are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the launch with a cup of tea or coffee.
