Libraries NI is delighted to announce Omagh Library will be holding an Open Mic event on Saturday 3rd December, from 2.30pm - 4.30pm.
This open mic event will give people the opportunity to enjoy performances by local bands and will be hosted by Triple Vision and Stone Resistance.
Triple Vision was formed in 2009 as a group of Christian musicians with the purpose of entertaining while sharing God's love. The band play a variety of venues ranging from Church based events to playing in the wider community and for charity events. The style is loosely acoustic / roots with a healthy helping of electric guitar, prepared to either 'mellow down' or 'rock out' as the occasion requires, and the band play a mixture of self penned originals and cover songs. The core line-up is based around guitarist Doyle Mills and bassist Kenny Robinson, with other players and singers drafted in.
Stone Resistance was formed about a year ago primarily to play at the '12 hour jam Musical Fundraiser' for Puddleducks Playgroup in 2010, and the lads enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to just keep playing. Formed around the talents of McClean brothers, Ciaran - (Lead vocals/guitar) and Eamon (Percussion), the line up was augmented by Doyle Mills on guitar and experienced Bass player, John Kirwan. The musical style encompasses country, folk, blues and rock and all areas in between.
Admission to this event is free and everyone is welcome to enjoy this Open Mic afternoon.
If you would like to perform at this Open Mic event, please contact the library or you can also book a slot on the day by asking the host (Doyle Mills). Places will be subject to availability and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
