Poems for Christmas – Event in Strabane Library

is hosting Poems for Christmas in Strabane Library on Friday 16th December at 1.00pm.

If you wish to be eased gently into the spirit of Christmas this year, Strabane Library is the place to be at lunchtime on Friday 16th December. 

Poet Kevin Quinn will be introducing and reading a selection of Christmas poems, old and new and the programme promises something for all tastes. 

Among the poets to be heard will be Thomas Hardy (his famous poem The Oxen), T S Eliot, John Betjeman and the seventeenth-century poet Robert Southwell. Irish poets will be strongly represented, including Patrick Kavanagh, Paul Muldoon and Seamus Heaney (Ulster Twilight).

Everyone is invited to come along to this free event on Friday 16th at 1.00pm and enjoy listening to a selection of festive poems.

Admission to this event is free and seasonal refreshments will be provided.
