Irvinestown Library invites you come along to a health and well-being roadshow, being held on Monday 25 March from 11.00am - 4.00pm.
The aim of this event is to promote well-being within the community and everyone is invited to call into the roadshow to find out how to improve your quality of life through diet and exercise and to see what services are available to support your quest for a healthier lifestyle.
During the day, you will be able to have free health checks, such as blood pressure and hearing checks, pick up some de-stressing techniques and find out more about keeping fit, eating well and getting the right support you may need.
Information stands from many organisations will be on hand to offer health guidance, coping techniques and ideas to relieve stress, including representatives from Signature, Bowel Cancer UK, Family Support NI, Patient Client Council, Health In Mind, Diabetes NI, Breakthru Drug and Alcohol Awareness and many more.
Pillbox Pharmacy will be offering free Blood Pressure and BMI check-ups and you will also be able to have a free hearing test thanks to Hearing Loss. An interpreter will be available for deaf people, provided by Signature (which promotes excellence in communication with deaf people).
Libraries NI’s Health In Mind team will also be there offering advice on taking steps to improve your well-being. The Health in Mind project is funded under the Big Lottery Fund’s Live and Learn programme and has been created with the aim of improving the quality of life of adults affected by mental illness, through information, learning and reading.
