Friends, Lovers, Chocolate book cover

I know you should never judge a book by its cover but a lot of us do and this time….well I’m glad I did.
I must admit though I stuck to a recognised author and as expected he didn’t disappoint. Well he did give us the much loved No1 Ladies Detective Agency Series.

With this novel we meet another female sleuth but there the similarity ends. This story is set in Edinburgh not Botswana and deals with more philosophical issues aimed more at the mind and less to the emotions but a gripping read for all that.

Isabel Dalhousie (now there’s a name to live up to) is the heroine of the story, a likeable and realistic character albeit with her little idiosyncrasies but then that’s what makes her all the more appealing.

Overall an enjoyable read, challenging at times exploring themes of love, temptation and friendship with the odd bit of philosophy to set you thinking.

Available as a book.

 As a Large Print Book.

As a Spoken Word CD.

As a Spoken Word MP3/Playaway.
