Castlewellan Library's Knit and Natter group have recently completed a knitted nativity
Library invites everyone to come along to a Knit and Natter Open Day on Tuesday
4 December from 11.30am – 1:30pm.
‘Knit and Natter’ is
a relaxed and sociable activity for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross
stitching or crafts. It is a chance to share hints and tips, swap
patterns and be involved in community projects. ‘Knit and Natter’ is the
ideal way to make new friends in the area, learn a new skill and build on your
knitting abilities in a fun and welcoming environment.
you would like to find out more about ‘Knit and Natter’, give knitting a
try or are having a problem with a pattern, you are welcome to come along to
the Open Day and benefit from the combined years of skill and knowledge of the
‘Knit and Natter’ group.
Catherine McGonigle who
attends the ‘Knit and Natter’ group said:
“We enjoy meeting people and
exchanging knitting and crocheting ideas. We encourage each other, swap
patterns and provide support to any beginners in the group. There is usually a
charity that we are knitting for including the Alzheimer’s Society and clothing
for babies and children in Africa. It is good to be doing something worthwhile
at the same time as chatting to each other and making friends”.

Library every Tuesday from 12.30pm – 1:30pm and all new members are very
