Introduction to Creative Writing at Banbridge Library on 20 January 2018

If your New Year’s resolution is to write a book or short story then come along to Banbridge Library on Saturday 20 January from 2:00pm until 4:00pm to pick up some creative writing skills.

This workshop, led by Dublin based writer Jamie O’Connell, will provide an introduction to creative writing and offer aspiring authors with tips on character creation and development.

Jamie, who has had several pieces of work published and has read at many festivals and universities, will use his wealth of experience to guide participants through a series of mini exercises that will help create an authentic protagonist voice and use memory to develop character.

Judith Norris, Manager at Banbridge Library, explains:

“We are delighted that Jamie O’Connell is hosting this ‘Introduction to Creative Writing’ workshop in Banbridge Library. The support on offer is sure to leave participants inspired and more confident in their creative ability. Banbridge Library has a relaxed and informal atmosphere and we would encourage those who attend this workshop, and even those who don’t, to use the library in the future for quality time and a space to write.”

The workshop is free to attend but spaces are limited so booking is essential.
