NI is looking forward to introducing customers to mindfulness as a tool for
health and wellbeing through hosting a ‘From Kindness to Health: an
introduction to Mindfulness’ workshop.
free workshops will take place in Bangor Carnegie Library on Tuesday 13
November from 10:30am to 1:00pm and Portadown Library on Thursday 22 November
from 10:30am to 1:00pm.
If these dates do not suit, additional workshops will be taking place in the new year on the following dates:- 16 January 2019 at 10:30am in Tullycarnet Library- 24 January 2019 at 10:00am in Antrim Library- 8 February 2019 at 10:30am in Irvinestown Library- 1 March 2019 at 11:00am in Strabane Library
will be given the opportunity to learn about neuroplasticity and to understand
that at all stages of life we are capable of positive growth and change. We
discover how ‘the mindful attitude’ – allowing and letting go, rather than
resisting or getting into conflict with ourselves and others, helps us feel
better and experience greater relaxation and wellbeing.
workshop facilitator, Cormac Carmichael, has over 10 years’ experience
supporting people to maximise their capacity for positive change and growth. He
believes every individual is the expert in their own lives and can be supported
and motivated to make healthy choices which cultivate happiness and wellbeing.
Smyth, Portadown Branch Library Manager said:
has become an increasingly popular way for people to improve their physical and
mental health. Libraries provide the ideal environment to help introduce
mindfulness into everyday life. The session is open to everyone, booking is
advisable and you can contact the library directly to book a place.”
Admission to both events is free and booking is
advisable. Telephone Portadown Library on 028 3833 6122 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and telephone Bangor Carnegie Library on 028
