COVID-19 / Service Updates Libraries NI website will be unavailable 10:00pm - 11:30pm on Monday 20 SeptemberThe Libraries NI website will be unavailable on from 10:00pm until 11:30pm on Monday 20 September in order to facilitate scheduled updates. The Libraries NI app will also be affected. However, during this period the online Catalogue will remain accessible as well as eBooks and eAudiobooks which can be accessed via the Libby and BorrowBox apps. eMagazines and eNewspapers will still be accessible via the Libby App. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.Library Opening Hours and ServicesLibraries NI is pleased to announce that public libraries across Northern Ireland are taking the next steps to reintroduce services and increase opening hours, including late nights and Saturdays, from the 6 September. Please note Carrickfergus, Cregagh, Killyleagh and Lurgan libraries will offer late night and Saturday opening hours at a later date. Updates will be posted here when available.A number of services are being reinstated including the reintroduction of hard copy newspapers, the return of soft seating and study space without time restriction and the eagerly awaited start of activities for children and adults in many local libraries with appropriate restrictions on numbers attending to ensure social distancing.To make everyone’s visit as comfortable as possible, customers are asked to use the hand sanitiser provided, wear a face covering and maintain a suitable social distance during your time inside the library. The Book and Collect Service will continue to operate in all libraries. This service is also supported by Libraries NI’s popular online resources providing free access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers. eBook and eAudiobook ServiceWe have expanded our eBook and eAudiobook service with the addition of BorrowBox! Customers can make the most of a wide selection of titles available by downloading both the Libby and BorrowBox apps to your preferred electronic device. In the meantime customers can use nearby libraries including Fintona, Newtownstewart and Castlederg. - Lisnaskea Library's Out of Hours Service is temporarily unavailable from Thursday 16 September due to a technical fault and this will be fixed in the coming days. NOTE that the Library remains open for normal opening hours.- Ballyhackamore Library will close from Monday 20 September for essential maintenance, reopening on Monday 8 November.
