Someone holding a cup of soupBanbridge Library is to serve up soup, conversation and friendship with its new weekly event Broth and Blether happening every Wednesday from 12:30pm until 1:30pm.

Broth and Blether is a great opportunity to enjoy a cup of soup and hear some favourite yarns or poetry at lunchtime with people from the local community.

After what for many has seemed like the longest winter in history, spring is finally on the way and what better way to come out of hiding than a weekly lunch date at the library.

Branch Manager of Banbridge Library, Nicola Gorringe, said:

“I think we’ve all started to notice daylight peeking through our blinds when the morning alarm goes off and with the days starting to get longer many of us are feeling more confident about venturing outside.

“With this in mind, we wanted to offer an incentive for people to get out of the house and have something to look forward to. We are delighted to be in the position that we can invite people for a soup lunch every Wednesday and we hope they enjoy the experience of being with others in the comfortable surroundings and relaxing atmosphere of the library.”

Broth and Blether takes place every Wednesday in Banbridge Library from 12:30pm until 1:30pm.

Everyone is welcome and no booking is required.
