Celebrating 50 years of Tandragee Library

50On Wednesday 5 July, it will be 50 years since the opening of Tandragee Library and a number of special events have been organised to celebrate.

On Thursday 29 June from 3:30pm until 4:30pm children age 8-12 are invited to come along to the library to make celebration decorations. Then on the day of the anniversary (Wednesday 5 July) there will be an intergenerational storytelling session with Liz Weir from 11:00am until 12:30pm. This event is suitable for all those age 4 to 104 and is in partnership with the Armstrong Storytelling Trust. Refreshments will be served and booking is advisable.

On Thursday 6 July from 2:00pm until 3:00pm there will be a Dogs Trust safety workshop from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. Families with children age 7 and over are welcome to come along and learn about safe behaviour around dogs as well as how to be responsible for them. Booking is advisable.

Commenting on the anniversary, Evelyn Hanna Libraries NI Area Manager said:
“The library has been a cornerstone of the local community for 50 years and we are delighted to hold these special events. I would encourage everyone to come along and join in the celebrations.”
