For anyone interested in creative writing, Libraries NI is offering a unique opportunity to attend a Flash Fiction Workshop with author Byddi Lee, in Armagh City Library on Tuesday 21 February at 6:30pm. The event is part of Libraries NI’s Give it a Go initiative during February which is encouraging people to learn a new skill or try something new.

Experienced writing tutor and local author Byddi Lee will provide an insight into the literary art of writing tightly plotted short fiction, telling a complete story in 500 words or less. Participants will also be given the opportunity to write their own flash fiction piece and get some feedback on what they have written.

Cathy Donnelly, Armagh City Library Branch Manager said:

“Flash fiction has earned its place in the wider world of literature and has become increasingly popular in recent years.

“It’s not easy to get an entire story across with so few words and if done well, a story can provide a richness that benefits both the reader and the writer. This workshop is an excellent place to begin for those who are new to writing but it would also be suitable for those who have written before.”

The Flash Fiction Workshop with Byddi Lee will take place in Armagh City Library on Tuesday 21 February from 6:30pm until 7:30pm.  Booking is essential and you can book by contacting the library t: 028 3752 4072 or by e: armagh.library@librariesni.org.uk
