Wild World Heroes Winter Mini Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge this year saw thousands of children reading and exploring nature and action for the environment as part of this year’s Wild World Heroes theme. Now the Heroes are back to help with the Winter Mini Challenge! The Winter Mini Challenge encourages children to keep up their reading habits over the winter holidays so children aged 4 to 11 years can join the Wild World Heroes as they embark on an Arctic adventure to find out about the creatures that live there. Find out about the environmental issues facing this precious, remote place and even spot a narwhal or two.

Taking part in the Winter Mini Challenge is simple, children are encouraged to call in to their local library and read at least three books of their choice between 1 December and 16 January and add them to the online profile at www.wintermini.org.uk and leave a short book review to earn fun digital rewards! Loads of other great stuff is on the website too, including games, book reviews, reading activities and content from the best children’s authors and illustrators around. Reaching their online reading goal will unlock a limited-edition virtual badge and a special Winter Mini Challenge certificate to print off and keep!

Call in to your local library or visit the challenge website for more details.
