Women, Money and Mental Health Events
Published 20 Jan 2025
Kith & Kin Financial Wellbeing Social Enterprise will be working with Libraries NI to deliver Women and Money sessions, supported by the Public Health Agency through the Clear Project.
“HopeforLife NI found that 32% of women aged 35-44 show signs of depression.”
The sessions will be held in various libraries across Northern Ireland between January and March 2025.
These unique sessions have been funded by the Clear Project through the Public Health Agency NI and will cover areas such as :-
- Menopause
- Motherhood
- Divorce & Separation
- Cancer and Illness
- Women’s Pensions etc
Each hour-long session will feature information delivered by a Financial Advisor, a Menopause Consultant and a Family Law Solicitor.
In addition to the group sessions, Kith & Kin Financial Wellbeing Social Enterprise will host one-to-one Financial Clinics at the same library locations. These clinics provide individuals with a 30-minute consultation with a qualified Financial Advisor. Held on separate dates from the group sessions, they offer a unique opportunity for personalised financial guidance.
Availability for the one-to-one Financial Clinics is limited, so early booking with your preferred participating library is recommended. Attendees can seek advice on topics such as: Budget Planning, Pensions, Mortgages, Insurance, Savings, Debt Management, Credit Scores, Cost of living, Wills and Estate Planning.
Upcoming sessions will be taking place in the following libraries -
Coalisland Library on Thursday 27 February at 11:30am
Magherafelt Library on Tuesday 4 March at 11:00am
Sean Bruen from Kith & Kin stated :-
“The evidence linking Women’s Mental Health and Money problems is well researched, we will deliver these programmes in local libraries which provide an excellent opportunity for women to attend them while also encouraging them to visit their local library at the same time.”
Christy Niblock, Libraries NI District Manager added;
“Libraries NI is pleased to provide a welcoming environment for these Women, Money and Mental Health sessions to take place. The events offer an opportunity for individuals to access advice and support and I encourage anyone interested, to attend a session in their preferred participating library.
“Additional venues will be announced soon, so keep an eye on the Libraries NI website and social media pages for updates.”
This project has been kindly supported by the Public Health Agency through the Clear Project.
