Children's Storytime  

Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff every Friday as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors. Suitable for children up to age 5; children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Mindful Colouring  
Every Friday from 11:00am to 12 noon; booking is not required.

Mindful Colouring groups are for anyone who wants to explore the world of adult colouring with intricate colouring patterns and designs. They can enhance well-being, help calm the mind and relieve stress through relaxed, meditative colouring in.

Lego Club (on Fridays)  
Every Friday from 3:15pm to 4:15pm; booking is not required. Ask staff for details.
 
Come along to have Lego building fun with creative ideas for things to make and build. For children aged 4+ years; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Every Saturday from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
 

Join us for some Lego and  Duplo free play in the library. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Rhythm and Rhyme on Wednesdays  
Every Wednesday booking is not required.
 
Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Duplo Club  

Every Thursday 10.30am - 11.30am - Join us for some Duplo free play in the library. Suitable for children aged 1-4.

Knit and Natter  
Every Thursday from 11:00am to 1:00pm; booking is not required.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Brew and Puzzles  

Every Thursday from 3:00pm - 4:00pm - Join us for a cup of tea/coffee and relax while completing puzzles including crosswords and Sudoku.

Comic Kids Club  

Come along to our new junior reading group for children aged 8 - 11 years who are interested in comics and graphic novels. The group will meet on the second Saturday of each month 11:00am  - 11.30am beginning on 14 March 2026. Please contact the branch to sign up and pick up the reading material for that month's group.

Adult Reading Group  

Please note this group will not meet in August and will recommence in September 2026

 

Last Friday of the month from 11:00am - 12 noon - Come along to our monthly adult book group which takes place at the same time each month.

Go Green Plant and Seed Swap  

As part of ‘Go Green with Libraries NI’, join us in Lisnaskea Library for a free seed and plant swap! Take what you need or give what you can: bring your own seeds or plants if you have any to exchange or simply swap tips on how to promote biodiversity in your garden and stay for a cuppa and a chat afterwards. Suitable for adults.

Lisnaskea Adult Storytelling Series  

Join us in Lisnaskea Library as our free Adult Storytelling sessions return on the third Tuesday evening of the month starting in September! Sit back and enjoy one of the oldest and most enduring art forms, storytelling. For our first session in September, Sinead McAleavey, an Ulster champion storyteller, returns to Lisnaskea with new stories.

Refreshments provided.

Join us in Lisnaskea Library for monthly free guided creative sessions, which support mental health and wellbeing, facilitated by Patchwork People. In September, we will be using clay to slow down, get out of our heads and into our hands. No creative experience needed. All materials provided. Suitable for adults.

Briege McClean - Creative Writing Workshop  

Briege will facilitate a creative writing workshop for 'Love your Library Day.' Creative Writing is a tool for prompting people to take time to think and respond to a question or prompt in their own authentic way. Students become confident in writing down their words, going with the flow and sharing their words.  Workshops can improve confidence, reduce mental health issues, increase conversational and social communication skills and ultimately help people understand and accept themselves for who they really are.

Book Week NI: Bring Your Own Book Club  

Join our Book Week NI book club session in Lisnaskea with no required reading! Book Week NI 2026: Make Your Own Reading Door Hanger  

Join us in Lisnaskea Library as part of Book Week NI 2026 to make your own Reading Door Hanger. Let people know you are busy reading and do not want to be disturbed with your own fun design! Suitable for children aged 4 years and above; children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No booking required.

Out of Hours Service

The Out of Hours Service allows adults (aged 18 years and over) controlled access to Lisnaskea Library for an additional 35 hours per week outside of normal opening hours.
Registered members can access a limited but important range of services on a self-service basis, including broadband/Wi-Fi access, printing facilities, study space and book borrowing. To register, just call in or contact the library during normal opening hours and ask staff for details.
