First Friday of every month from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Board Game Club  

Weekly every Saturday.

For children aged 5+ years, come along and play some board games with your friends at Coleraine Library, where our friendly staff are more than happy to help.

Lego Club (on Saturdays)  

Every Saturday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.

For children aged 5+ years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
Come along to have some lego building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Rhythm and Rhyme (Tuesday and Friday Mornings)  

Weekly every Tuesday and Friday mornings from 11:00am to 11:30am.

 

Booking is advisable.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

 

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Suitable for children aged 0-4 years; children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Storytime  

Takes place every Thursday.

Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Suitable for children aged 4-8 years; children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Knit and Natter  
Every Monday from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Francis Joseph Bigger Collection' Exhibition  

Coleraine Library is delighted to host the 'Francis Joseph Bigger Collection' Exhibition. This exhibition marks the centenary of the death of Francis Joseph Bigger in 1926. Held at Belfast Central Library, the Collection includes Bigger’s private library, personal papers, manuscripts and correspondence. The exhibition illustrates his life and interests, including archaeology, language, history, music and the wider Irish cultural revival. Everyone Welcome. Available to view during opening hours.

Chatterbooks

Loneliness Awareness Week - 'A Bit of Board Games Craic'!  

In support of Loneliness Awareness Week, Coleraine Library invites you to come and enjoy all the fun with our 'A Bit of Board Games Craic!' Event. Whether you come with family, friends or yourself, join our friendly library staff and connect over a selection of boardgames and good craic. Not only may you win the game but more importantly you have the chance to make new friends.

This Father's Day weekend, all children aged 4-10 are invited to join us at Coleraine Library for our Father's Day 'Card Making' Craft. Using our array of craft supplies, come make a special card ahead of the big day, to give to your loved one.

Its time to dive into the Big Summer Read at Coleraine Library, as we invite children aged 6-12 years to come along to our 'Ocean and Sea Creatures' craft. Join us and create your own colourful sea animals using our selection of craft resources and discover why keeping our seas clean is so important for turtles, fish, dolphins, and all the amazing creatures beneath the waves. Big Summer Read - 'Marvel Characters' Quiz Event  

Big Summer Read becomes the Marvel Universe at Coleraine Library, as children aged 8+ years are invited to join our 'Marvel Character' Quiz Event. Enjoy two quizzes led by our library staff, where in the first quiz you will match the symbol to the Superhero and then take part in the 'Super Trivia Quiz' to test how much you know about the Marvel Universe.
