Libraries NI will host events in libraries across Northern Ireland to mark Alzheimer’s Awareness Day which is on Sunday 21 September, offering reminiscence sessions, memory cafés, talks and activities that highlight the vital role libraries play in supporting people living with dementia, their families and carers.

Come along to Crumlin Library and meet Kelly from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and have a cuppa.  Hear all about the "menu" of opportunities that is available in the area, and how the council are helping to support the health and wellbeing for those who are young at heart.

Alzheimer's Awareness Day 2025  

In support of Alzheimer's Awareness Day, Limavady Library will be hosting a 'Memory Cafe' event, where we invite those living with Alzheimer's, their care givers, family, friends and the local community to come along and join our staff as we socialise, share stories and enjoy a mindful colouring activity all over a nice cuppa. Lets come together to raise awareness but more importantly enjoy a morning of good conversation and fun in our local library.

Next Chapter Café- Compassion in the Community  

Antrim and Newtownabbey Area libraries are welcoming the Next Chapter Café's perfect for exploring the next stages in life.  If you are on a caring journey looking after someone living with a condition or have received a diagnosis, come along and visit the Rathcoole Library at this special event with organisations and support services to help with advice and information.  Stay and enjoy refreshments and entertainment.  

 

Event is in Partnership with the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
