Loneliness Bench Launch in Antrim Library Garden

Antrim Newtownabbey Loneliness Network, Action Mental Health Men’s Shed Antrim and Libraries NI are launching a Chatty bench at Antrim Library Garden on 22 April. Chatty benches are help combat loneliness and bring people together. Colourful signs added to the benches are letting everyone know that by sitting on them you're happy to chat with whoever joins you. The chatty bench plaques act as a talking point and encourage those who see them to reach out and spark up conversations with the people around them. There is also a QR code on the Chatty bench to direct people to more sources of support and connection in the community. The beautiful bench was expertly crafted by the men of Action Mental Health Men’s Shed Antrim and its placement in Antrim library garden will encourage people in the library garden to chat and make connections.
