Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Every Friday from 10:00am - 12:00noon.

Enhance your well-being and calm the mind through relaxed meditative colouring. A gentle way to reduce stress using intricate colouring patterns and designs.

Ballyclare Scribblers  
Every Tuesday from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

Are you a budding writer or poet? Come along to our new group and meet like-minded people and share ideas. Whether it is your first attempt or you are a seasoned writer you will be prompted by new ideas each week. Use this time out to take a well-deserved break from your day; to escape and relax the mind.

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Junior reading group for children aged 9 - 11 years of age.
 
First Wednesday of every month from 3:15pm - 4:00pm.

Lego Club  
Please note Lego Club is only available during term time.

Every Thursday from 3:15pm - 4:00pm.

Adult Reading Group  
Third Friday of every month from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Booking is essential.

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Adult Reading Group  

Held on the last Tuesday of the month from 4:00pm - 5:30pm

The Adult Reading Group for 16's and over gives an opportunity for adults to discuss their latest book.

Arc21 Eco-Friendly Art Workshop: Brooch Making  

Please note this event is now fully booked.

 

Join us for a relaxed, enjoyable workshop for adults. We will repurpose everyday materials into unique eco-friendly brooches. All materials will be provided. Event is in partnership with Antrim and Newtownabbey Council's Over 50's programme. Adults can be younger than 50 and people can bring dependents to participate alongside and take a space.

A fun and relaxed session where children and families can enjoy a lively Pirate Themed Storytime followed by a creative craft activity inspired by the day's theme. This welcoming session encourages a love of stories, creativity and shared enjoyment, giving children the chance to listen, imagine and make something special to take home, all while celebrating reading as part of the Big Summer Read. Big Summer Read - Create Your Own LEGO Superhero invites children to unleash their imagination and design a superhero all of their own using LEGO. From superpowers and costumes to secret gadgets and heroic backstories, participants can build a character inspired by their creativity and favourite stories. This fun, hands-on session encourages storytelling, problem-solving and imaginative play in a relaxed and welcoming library space, perfect for enjoying the Big Summer Read. Big Summer Read 2026 - When I was a child  

Join us as we invite families to step back in time and discover what life was like growing up in Ballyclare in years gone by. Join us for a friendly and engaging session exploring childhood memories, stories and experiences from the past, offering a chance to learn about local history, spark conversations across generations, and reflect on how childhood has changed over the years.
