Knit and Natter  

A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

Storytime  
Weekly, every Monday from 3:30pm to 4:00pm. Suitable for ages 4-8 years.
 
Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Friday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Lego Club  
Every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.

For children aged 5-10, all children attending this event must be accompanied by an adult.

Rhythm and Rhyme (Wednesdays and Fridays)  
Every Wednesday and Friday from 10:30am to 11:00am.
 
Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.
 
Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Mindful Colouring  
Every Thursday from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Mindful Colouring groups are for anyone who wants to explore the world of adult colouring with intricate colouring patterns and designs. They can enhance well-being, help calm the mind and relieve stress through relaxed, meditative colouring in.

Adult Reading Group  
Last Wednesday of the month from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
 
Adult Reading Groups are a great opportunity for members to join in some lively literary discussions in a relaxed, friendly environment. The groups encourage people to read for pleasure, share their enthusiasm and express opinions about books and their authors.
The group meets on a regular basis and the book the group will be discussing can be borrowed from the library catalogue for free.

Sensory Playtime  

Monthly on the last Thursday of every month from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Suitable for ages 3+ years.

Sensory playtime in Ballymoney Library offers children a dedicated time with various sensory equipment for sensory-based play.

Sam Thompson Archive' Exhibition  

Ballymoney Library is delighted to host the 'Sam Thompson Archive' Exhibition. The Sam Thompson Archive, normally held in Belfast Central Library, provides a vivid snapshot of the man and his times. An important collection of manuscripts and typescripts, it is complemented by the correspondence, photographs and scrapbooks. Everyone Welcome.

Empathy Day Festival - 'Empathy Superpower Glasses' Craft  

The Empathy Day Festival celebrations continue as Ballymoney Library invites children aged 4-10 years to come along and create your very own 'Empathy Superpower Glasses'. Join our friendly library staff and use our selection of craft resources available to make your very own 'Superpower Glasses', ready to see the world through the lenses of empathy.

Big Summer Read - 'Crack the Code' Mystery Scavenger Hunt  

Calling all detectives! A crime has occurred in Ballymoney Library and we need the help of children aged 6-11 years old to help us solve the case. Come along and join our 'Crack the Code' Mystery Scavenger Hunt, as we ask you to find the cluses hidden around the library to crack the code and solve the mystery of the missing librarian!

Ballymoney Library is delighted to welcome the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) as part of our Big Summer Read celebrations, to host their 'Wild Writing' Workshop for children aged 5-10 years. Join the RSPB and create your very ow 'Wild Writing' as part of RSPB's 'Wild Challenge Programme'.

The Big Summer Read meets science at Ballymoney Library, as we invite children aged 5-10 to come along and enjoy our 'Erupting Volcanos' Lego Challenge.  Using our selection of Lego, your challenge is to build a volcano before joining our friendly staff for a special experiment, where they will help you make an erupting volcano.
