The Empathy Jar: Share a Kind Word

Empathy helps build stronger, more compassionate communities—and it starts with listening, sharing, and understanding others. As part of Empathy Week, we invite you to take part in our Empathy Jar activity.

Drop by and write a kind or encouraging message for someone else to find. You can also pick a message from the jar when you need a boost yourself. Whether it’s a quote, a compliment, or a few words from the heart—what you share could make someone’s day.

Available during library opening hours.

Loneliness can affect anyone, at any stage of life—but connection can begin with something simple. Drop into the library during Loneliness Awareness Week for our “Piece by Piece” social table. We’ll have a jigsaw on the go, a warm cuppa waiting, and plenty of friendly conversation.

Whether you stay for five minutes or an hour, you’re welcome to join us.
