Carnlough Library will open at the later time of 2:00pm on Tuesday 1 September. Alternative libraries include Larne.

Rhythm and Rhyme  

Every Saturday from 10:30am - 11:00am.

Followed by toddler craft time at 11:00am - 11:30am.

Rhythm and Rhyme is an exciting free programme to introduce children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories in the library. Rhythm and Rhyme is a great opportunity for children to have fun and learn in a relaxed venue while giving parents and carers the chance to socialise.

 

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Lego Club  

Every Thursday and Saturday afternoon from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. 

Come and create something fantastic to display.

Game On -Board Game Club  

First Saturday of every month from 2:00pm - 3:30pm.
 

Join us for some friendly competition and lots of laughter.

Knit and Natter  

Every Tuesday from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.

A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

Tea and Newspapers  

Every Thursday from 10:00am - 1:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Quiet Time  

Quiet time every Thursday morning.


Lights will be dimmed and we’ll do our best to keep noise to a minimum and provide a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

 

Material to promote calm and relaxation e.g. mindful colouring will be available on request.

Craft and Craic  

Last Tuesday of every month from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.

From sewing to decoupage and more.
Learn new skills and complete a finished product.

Sensory Storytime and Rhymes  

Last Saturday of every month from 10:30am - 11:30am.

A story and rhyme time using props and toys to engage all the senses. Making stories come to life.

Save the Bees – Pot, Plant and Pollinate!  

Foster a love for nature and "going green" through nurturing living things. Children will be planting seeds in their own uniquely decorated pots.

Join us at the library for a frightfully fun Halloween session packed with spooky stories, creepy characters and a fang-tastic craft activity! Get ready to listen, create and have lots of Halloween fun. Fancy dress is very welcome!

Carnlough Library presents renowned storyteller “Stephen O’Hara”  

Stephen will bring to life the folklore, rituals and superstitions that surround the Irish wake, a unique celebration of life, death and community.
