Dungeons and Dragons Club  

Welcome to Carrickfergus Library’s Dungeons and Dragons club! We are a friendly, lively bunch who welcome players of all levels from total beginner to long-time veteran. We hope you have a wonderful time meeting and playing with us every fortnight.
 

Meeting every second Saturday first session from 9:30am - 1:00pm and second session from 1:00pm - 4:30pm.

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 10:30am to 12 noon.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Storytime  
Every Tuesday from 3:30pm - 4:15pm.
 
Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Thursday from 10:00am to 11:30am.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Duplo Club  

Come along and join in the fun with our Duplo; release their inner builder. For children aged 1-4 years; children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Brick Buddies Weekend Club  

Every Saturday from 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Join us for a fun-filled Saturday Lego club designed for parents and kids to build together! Whether you’re a master builder or just love to stack bricks, this is your chance to connect, create and share laughs as a family. No experience needed- just imagination and teamwork!

Suitable for children 6+ years and there is Duplo available for younger children.
Children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Every Monday from 10:30am - 12 noon.
 
Enhance your well-being and calm the mind through relaxed meditative colouring. A gentle way to reduce stress using intricate colouring patterns and designs.

Adult Reading Group  
Runs monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month at 4:00pm.
 
The Adult Reading Group for 16's and over gives an opportunity for adults to discuss their latest book.

Pause and Breathe: Quiet Time  

Quiet time every Monday from 10:00-11:00am.


Lights will be dimmed and we will do our best to keep noise to a minimum and provide a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

Material to promote calm and relaxation such as mindful colouring and puzzles will be available on demand.

Poetry Pals

Memory Lane Cafe  

Memory Lane Café is a sociable event for people with dementia and their carers, as well as those who used to care for others with dementia. 


Meet new people and share your experiences. Join us for tea, coffee, biscuits and games.

Meeting on the first Tuesday of the month from 10:30am - 12 noon.

Libraries Connecting People: Loneliness Awareness Week 2025  

Carrickfergus Library invites you to take part in a meaningful day of community and creativity. Add your voice to our Kindness Postbox by sharing a letter, drawing or uplifting message for someone in a care home. 

 

Discover the stories behind our town on a guided historical walk at 11:00am, then enjoy the joyful sounds of Eden Primary School’s Ukulele Band at 1:00pm. 

 

In the afternoon, unwind with a watercolour workshop from 2:00pm–4:00pm led by Helen Bradbury (booking required). Drop in anytime to connect with local organisations offering advice and support, including the Impact Network, Age Friendly Co-ordinator, and Good Morning Carrickfergus. Bookable support sessions with the Connect North Link Worker run from 11:00am–4:00pm.

Holiday Spanish Language classes  

Join our beginner Spanish classes and make your holiday even more memorable.


Designed for absolute beginners, these three 90-minute Spanish language classes will introduce you to:
Spanish language, food and culture
Greetings, introducing yourself, asking and giving information
Ordering food and asking for the bill
Practice, practice, practice with fun interactive activities.

Visit our free drop-in service - no appointment needed. Can help with: Hearing aids, including basic repairs and maintenance of NHS hearing aids, information on hearing loss and tinnitus, how to do a hearing check, and how to access support and services in your area.
