CUSTOMER NOTICE - Bank Holiday Closures

All Libraries NI’s public and mobile libraries will be closed on Saturday 12, Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 July. Libraries will reopen on Wednesday 16 July. 

The Out of Hours service will be closed from Friday 11 July until Tuesday 15 July inclusive reopening on Wednesday 16 July in Out of Hours libraries.

Please remember that eServices (eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers) are available during this period, and joining online is free.

Customer Notice

Cushendall Library will be closed on Thursday 3 July due to essential IT upgrades. Alternative libraries include Carnlough and Ballycastle.

Adult Reading Group  

First Tuesday of every month between 2:30pm – 3:30pm.

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Tuesday and Saturday between 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Thursday from 10:30am - 11:00am

Booking is essential.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Conversation Station  

Weekly every Thursday from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.

Come along to our weekly Conversation Station to socialise, chat, make friends and discuss community and local information over a nice cuppa.

Mighty Mammoth Making Craft and Storytime  

Cushendall Library invites you to come along and kick off the Big Summer Read with a Mammoth Storytime and Craft session. Come along and delve into the prehistoric past as you join our staff as we craft our very own woolly mammoth. From 1:30pm - 2:30pm.

 

For children aged 4 -11 years accompanied by an adult.

Egyptian Fan Making and Hieroglyphics Challenge  

Come along to Cushendall Library and create your very own handmade fan in our fun filled craft to let you cool off in the summer sun. 

And don't forget to see if you can also complete our Hieroglyphics Challenge as we continue to celebrate the Big Summer Read.

Fire Breathing Dragon Challenge and Storytime  

The Big Summer Read continues at Cushendall Library as we invite you to come along and join us as we recycle some old cardboard tubes and get immersed in a medieval fire breathing dragon challenge.

 

Can you help our staff create some different dragon characters?

 

And don't forget to stay after the craft to enjoy a special Zog the Dragon themed Storytime.

World Chess Day Competition  

Come on down this summer and help us celebrate World Chess Day in Cushendall Library by going head to head with our staff in a friendly game of Chess. Everyone Welcome

Victorian Parlour Games  

Join us in Cushendall Library and lets travel back in time to the Victorian Age and play some Victorian Parlour Games - how about a game of charades, pass the slipper and lookabout.

Rocket Building Craft and Scientific Facts Storytime  

Help us celebrate all things space and time travel by coming along and joining us in a special Rocket Making Craft at Cushendall Library as part of our Big Summer Read activities. Not only will we be busy creating our space travelling masterpiece but listen to some fascinating facts about all things science and space ready by our Library Staff.
