Adult Reading Group  

First Tuesday of every month between 2:30pm – 3:30pm.

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Tuesday and Saturday between 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Thursday from 10:30am - 11:00am

Booking is essential.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Conversation Station  

Weekly every Thursday from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.

Come along to our weekly Conversation Station to socialise, chat, make friends and discuss community and local information over a nice cuppa.

Rocket Building Craft and Scientific Facts Storytime  

Help us celebrate all things space and time travel by coming along and joining us in a special Rocket Making Craft at Cushendall Library as part of our Big Summer Read activities. Not only will we be busy creating our space travelling masterpiece but listen to some fascinating facts about all things science and space ready by our Library Staff.

Sam Henry’s Life and Times Exhibition  

Cushendall Library in partnership with Causeway Museum Services is delighted to host a special exhibition which showcases the life and achievements of Sam Henry. Sam was best known as a folklorist and is highly regarded for his collection of songs gathered from people around the Causeway Coast and Glens and beyond. 

 

Available to view During Opening Hours.

Sam Henry’s Life and Times Exhibition

Heart of the Glens Festival - Landmark Lego Challenge Event  

Cushendall Library invites children aged 4-11 years to come along and help us celebrate the Heart of the Glens Festival, by joining our Library Staff who will help you build your very own Landmark Lego of the Glens. 2:30pm - 3:30pm.

Heart of the Glens Festival - Children's Storytime Session with Liz Weir  

To celebrate the Heart of the Glens Festival, Cushendall Library is delighted to welcome the wonderful Liz Weir from Armstrong Storytelling Trust to come along and deliver a magical storytelling session for all the family to enjoy.

Australian Aboriginal Dot Painting and Storytime  

The Big Summer Read fun continues, as we invite you to join us in Cushendall Library and enjoy some aboriginal artwork in the form of Dot Painting. 

 

Pick from a range of pictures and complete them using your fingertips as explore how art can take many different forms across many different cultures.

Time Travel Playdough Craft  

Come along to Cushendall Library and help us celebrate the past wonders of the world by going on an archaeological dig. Follow our staff as they show you how to make your own playdough, before hiding some objects in the playdough all ready to be dug up in an archaeological exploration as part of our Big Summer Read celebrations.

Granny Square Knitting Session  

As part of our Summer Activities, we invite you to come along to Cushendall Library and help us celebrate Granny Square Day by showing us your crochet skills over a nice cup of tea. Not able to crochet, no problem! We have a selection of books and step-by-step guides to help you start your crochet journey.

Big Summer Read - Seasonal Storyboard  

As part of Big Summer Read, we invite you to come along and join us as we celebrate the seasons and jump through the year by completing your very own seasons Storyboard. 

 

Once you have completed you storyboard, be sure to enjoy listening to a surprise seasonal Storytime read by our friendly Library Staff. 1:30pm - 2:30pm
