Knit and Natter  
Every Monday from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Adult Reading Club  
First Friday of every month from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Chatterbooks  

First Monday of every month (please contact the library for specific dates) between 4:00pm to 4:45pm

 

Booking is advisable.

 

Chatterbooks is an exciting Junior Reading Group where children aged 7 - 11 years can come along to chat about their favourite books, enjoy fun activities and crafts and meet new friends.

Weekly every Tuesday and Friday mornings from 11:00am to 11:30am.

 

Booking is advisable.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

 

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Suitable for children aged 0-4 years; children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Tea and Newspapers (Wednesday and Thursday mornings)  

Weekly every Wednesday and Thursday morning from 10:00am to 12:00pm

 

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Every Wednesday from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

 

For children aged 5+ years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.

Storytime  

Takes place every Thursday.

Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Weekly every Saturday.

Our Place is Your Place' - 'My Mum has ADHD' Book Reading and Group Discussion  

As part of Children's Mental Health Week, Coleraine Library is delighted to welcome local author, Jordan Campbell to deliver a sensational reading of her new publication 'My Mum has ADHD'. We invite families to attend this event, where Jordan will provide a reading of her publication 'My Mum has ADHD' - a heartwarming children’s story about love, understanding, and embracing differences even when every day looks a little different. 

Then afterwards, there will be an opportunity to engage in a group discussion segment with those in attendance to learn more and better understand families and ADHD.

NI Science Festival - Stars and Planets Storytime with Sun, Earth and Moon Orbit Craft  

To celebrate NI Science Festival, Coleraine Library invites children aged 4-8 years to come along on a journey of discovery as we travel through the stars and planets with fun filled stories, read by our friendly Library Staff. Then we invite you all to jump aboard and have fun with our 'Sun, Earth and Moon Orbit' craft.

Valentine's Day - Children's 'Heartfelt Card Making' Craft  

To celebrate Valentine's Day, Coleraine Library invites children aged 4-11 years to come along and enjoy our 'Heartfelt Card Making' Craft. Under the guidance of our friendly Library Staff and using our selection of craft resources available, be sure to make a truly lovely Valentine's Card to take home and give to someone special. 

From 2:00pm - 3:00pm, booking not required.

Coleraine Library - Family Fun Day  

Calling all families - Coleraine Library invites you to come along and join in all the fun with our Family Fun Day and in support of 'Give it a Go Week'. 

Beginning at 10:15am with a multi-sensory music and movement session delivered by the fantastic Coochie Coo for children aged 0-4 years old, the day will consist of a themed Storytime at 11:00am for children aged 4-11 years, free face painting by the talented 'Anna's Cheeky Face's' between 11:30am - 3:30pm for all the children to enjoy and a magical treat - 'Park's Magic Show' delivered by the magical Parky the Magician at 1:00pm. 

Be sure to wrap up the day by joining our friendly library staff for a fun craft/games activity between 2:30pm - 3:30pm. Everyone Welcome.

Black Heritage in NI: Hidden History Exhibition  

As part of Heritage Week, Coleraine Library is pleased to host the Black Heritage in NI: Hidden History travelling exhibition. Presented by North West Migrants Forum, the exhibition explores and celebrates the often-overlooked stories of Black heritage in Northern Ireland. Through carefully researched content and engaging visual displays, it highlights the contributions, lived experiences, and cultural narratives that have helped shape communities across the region.
