Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Saturday from 10:00am to 10:30am.
 
Everyone welcome.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Duplo Club  

Every Saturday from 10:30am to 11:30am.

 

For children aged 1 – 6 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
Come along to have some Duplo building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
 
Everyone welcome.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Lego Club  

Every Tuesday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.

Tea and Newspapers  

Every Thursday from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
 

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Storytime  

Weekly, every Saturday from 2:30pm to 3.00pm. Suitable for ages 4-8 years; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Creative Craft Corner  

A weekly craft session run in Garvagh Library. 
Every Saturday from 11:30am – 12:30pm 
For children aged 4-8 years accompanied by an adult.

Big Summer Read - '3D Sherlock Holmes' Craft  

The game is afoot in Garvagh Library! This week of our Big Summer Read the theme is mystery, and Sherlock Holmes is on the case. Children aged 6-10 are invited join us to create your own mini detective with our '3D model Sherlock' Craft, led by our library staff and using our selection of craft resources available. 

From 3:00pm – 4:00pm, booking not required.

Big Summer Read - 'Laurel Wreath Crowns' Craft  

Hear ye, hear ye! It is history week of our Big Summer Read, so gather citizens aged 6-11 in Garvagh Library. This week, using our craft resources, we shall be crafting Laurel Wreath crowns so you can all feel like victors of old. 

From 3:00pm – 4:00pm, booking not required.

Roald Dahl Day - Enormous Crocodile Craft  

Snap snap snap! It's Roald Dahl day. Join us in Garvagh Library for our Enormous Crocodile Craft. Children aged 4-10 are invited to listen to our Roald Dahl storytime before making their very own snapping crocodile. Children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone Welcome.

Chatterbooks  

Chatterbooks is an exciting Junior Reading Group where children aged 9 - 11 years can come along to chat about their favourite books, enjoy fun activities and crafts and meet new friends.

 

The third Tuesday of the month (Dates will vary – please ask staff) from 5:30pm-6:30pm

Go Green with Libraries NI - Save the Bees Craft  

Help us celebrate Go Green with Libraries NI Month! Use our craft resources to decorate your very own flowerpot before planting special seed paper to grow your own colourful wildflowers. These flowers will give bees and other pollinators much needed food reserves before the winter months! Booking essential.
