Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Monday and Tuesday from 11:00am to 11:30am.
 
Songs, Rhymes and stories for babies and toddlers.
Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Tea and Newspapers  

Every Wednesday from 10:30am to 11:30am

 

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Knit & Natter  
Wednesdays from 11:00am - 12:30pm
 
A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

Storytime  
Weekly, every Friday from 2:15pm - 2:45pm. Suitable for ages 3-6 years.
 
Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Lego Club  
Every Saturday from 11:00 am – 12 noon.
For children aged 5 - 10 years; all children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.

Adult Reading Group  

First Friday of every month between 10:30am to 11:30am.

 

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Magic Show with Parky the Magician  

Roll up Roll up, the Magician is here! For children aged 4+ years, children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Portstewart Library invites you to come along and enjoy all the magical fun as we welcome Parky the Magician to host his spectacular Magic Show. You’ll not want to miss this fun filled event.

Give It A Go - Give it a Go Week’ - Introduction to Libraries NI Digital Resources Session  

As part of 'Give it a Go Week' Portstewart Library invites you to come along and enjoy a morning of learning more about our Libraries NI Digital Resources. Guided by our friendly Library Staff, come along and receive an introduction on how to access 'The Digital Film Archive', BBC Rewind and BFI Replay (all free services available to explore) and learn how to develop your skills, build confidence and become familiar with the digital resources available in Libraries NI.

NI Science Festival - Discover Coding with Kubo the Robot  

Join our free hands-on coding session with Kubo the Robot. Designed for children aged 4–9; this playful STEM session is part of the NI Science Festival and introduces the basics of coding through guided activities and problem-solving, with no prior experience needed.

Our Place is Your Place' - 'Love to Lego' Creative Collaboration Event  

In support of Children's Mental Health Week, Portstewart Library invites children aged 5-11 years to come along and unwind with our 'Creative Collaboration Lego' Event. Using our selection of Lego resources, we encourage you to collaborate with other children in attendance and see what wonderful Lego masterpieces you can build, as you come together over your shared love of Lego and libraries.
