Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Monday and Tuesday from 11:00am to 11:30am.
 
Songs, Rhymes and stories for babies and toddlers.
Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Tea and Newspapers  

Every Wednesday from 10:30am to 11:30am

 

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Knit & Natter  
Wednesdays from 11:00am - 12:30pm
 
A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

Storytime  
Weekly, every Friday from 2:15pm - 2:45pm. Suitable for ages 3-6 years.
 
Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Lego Club  
Every Saturday from 11:00 am – 12 noon.
For children aged 5 - 10 years; all children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.

Adult Reading Group  

First Friday of every month between 10:30am to 11:30am.

 

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Doodles Art Company - 'Autumn Recycled Tin Owl' Children's Craft  

Portstewart Library is delighted to welcome a local volunteer from 'Doodles Art Company' to host an Autumn Treat with a 'Recycled Tin Can Owl Craft' as part of our Green Libraries Initiative. For children aged 6+ years, come along and enjoy all the recycling fun, as you our guided on how to create and take a wide-eyed owl home with you!

Irish Wakes' Storytelling Session with Stephen O'Hara  

Experience storytelling steeped in Irish folklore as Stephen 
O’Hara explores the customs, humour and humanity of the 
traditional wake. This is a moving reminder of how communities 
once gathered to celebrate life in the face of loss.
