Events

Adult Reading Group  
Every four weeks from 11:00am to 12 noon. Please contact the library to find out the specific date of the event.
 
Adult Reading Groups are a great opportunity for members to join in some lively literary discussions in a relaxed, friendly environment. The groups encourage people to read for pleasure, share their enthusiasm and express opinions about books and their authors.

The group meets on a regular basis and the book the group will be discussing can be borrowed from the library catalogue for free.

Tea and Newspapers  
Daily from 10:30am to 12 noon.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Knit & Natter  
Every Friday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Knit and Natter Groups Knit and Natter groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Lego Club  
Every Saturday from 11:00am - 12:00noon.

Suitable for children aged 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Come along to have some Lego building fun. 

Booking is essential by calling the library on 028 7188 3686 on the Thursday prior to the event.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Wednesday from 10:00am to 10:30am.

Booking is essential, please book on the Monday or Tuesday before the event.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Every Thursday from 10:00am to 7:30pm.

There will be puzzles available in the Cryptic Corner of the library. Everyone is welcome to call in and have a go at solving them.

Macmillan Coffee Morning  

Join us for The Macmillan Coffee Morning! This is about more than fundraising – it’s a chance to enjoy coffee, cake and conversation, reconnect with friends and feel part of your local community while supporting a cause that touches so many lives. Booking is not required.

Good Relations Week: Story time and Craft  

As part of our Good Relations Week celebrations, Strabane Library invites children aged 5-11 to come along and join us for a special themed Storytime, read by our Library staff, on stories about friendship and empathy. Then be sure to join in all the fun by creating your very own 'Friendship Bracelet' using our craft resources available. 

 

From 11:00am - 12:30pm for children aged 5-10 years accompanied by an adult.

PRONI on Tour  

PRONI staff will be running a Workshop in Strabane library for adults who wish to learn how to get started using PRONI and will give an insight into the records they hold.  There will also be a Drop In service with PRONI staff on hand to answer customers' research questions.
