Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Rhythm and Rhyme is an exciting free programme to introduce children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories in the library. Rhythm and Rhyme is a great opportunity for children to have fun and learn in a relaxed venue while giving parents and carers the chance to socialise.

Help us build a giant community Story Tree through a fun hands-on craft session at the library. Children and families can create their own unique leaves using painting, collage, papier-mâché, sewing, felt and other creative materials inspired by favourite stories, characters and summer adventures. The finished leaves will become part of a special Story Tree display celebrating imagination, creativity and reading across the community.

Join us for a special family celebration as we unveil the completed community Story Tree created throughout the Big Summer Read. Families can enjoy tea, coffee, squash and cake while taking part in themed scavenger hunts, creative activities and a short talk reflecting on the stories, artwork and adventures shared across the summer. A fun and welcoming afternoon celebrating reading, creativity and community participation at your local library.

The event will begin with a flower pressing demonstration, accompanied by educational materials on plant identification, including plant keys and labelled displays of pressed flowers organised by plant family. Each display will feature the plant's common and scientific name, family, and a few interesting facts about its ecology, traditional uses, or role in local biodiversity.
Participants will then create their own unique cards and collages using these responsibly foraged plant materials, along with other sustainable resources where possible, including recycled card and second-hand fabric scraps.

Join us at Woodstock Library for a warm welcome and a cuppa as we support Macmillan Cancer Support's annual Coffee Morning. Throughout the day, visitors are invited to enjoy homemade cakes, tea and coffee, kindly prepared by library staff, in return for a voluntary donation. Every penny raised will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping people living with cancer receive the practical, emotional and financial support they need. Whether you stay for a chat, catch up with friends or simply enjoy a slice of cake, everyone is welcome to be part of this community fundraising event.
