Dear Alexander,
I received your letter a week or two ago, and am pleased to hear from you again. I think your previous letter must have got mislaid or I did not receive it. I know there was one I received which I had not answered.
The demobilisation seems to have been going on very irregularly. Although I have applied for all our permanent men, only two have so far been released, and of course I may tell you that I cannot apply for you until I have got all our old permanent hands reinstated. However, I suppose that will all come in good time. You will be sorry to hear that Mr Rowan29 has been seriously ill with pneumonia, but is now somewhat better.
I will be glad if you will let me know of any change in your address.
I remain,
Yours sincerely,
JBG
