Dear Mr Elliott,

The last I heard of you was that you were away recovering from indisposition.
Well I hope you are now quite recovered & in your usual health.

I believe if only you could come & spend a month or so with us here in the open air all day long, among the trees or doing our long route march you would never be ill again. That is how I feel. This past week has been gloriously fine & my work has been out of doors the whole while. On one day we had a long route march round by Portadown & Moyallon. This latter little place is quite one of the prettiest little places I have ever seen. The march was rather too long for the men, though I was riding all the time.

We are eagerly looking forward to the great review next week. I suppose you will be seeing it. I don't quite know what place we will have in it, but it looks as though we would take it84 more room than anyone else because we shall have a transport train of about 100 horses as well as our 1000 men.

Now I must fly off I have to go after a company which left half an hour ago & teach them how to judge distances.

Please remember me to the staff and to your family.

Kind regards & good wishes.

Sincerely Yours,

T. Coulson
