Dear Coulson,
Since I wrote to you in December last, I have received the forms to be filled in for returning officers, in which is the query "New salary agreed or offered" (which I have to fill in). Now, if you return, you will have £150 plus £50 war bonus, and I am anxious to know whether or not you agree to the above, or whether you have anything better in view. I understand that the Corporation are desirous of having these matters settled as soon as possible, so that it would be necessary for me to send in the forms by the end of the month, and if you could let me know your decision by then, I would be greatly obliged.
I am glad to say that we are all keeping well at home, and that there have been no material changes of late in the Library. I have not seen much of either Gibson or Milligan151 in the past month. I hope you are enjoying good health, and also your wife. Is she still in Blackpool? You did not mention where she was in your last letter.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
I remain,
Yours sincerely,
JBG
