Letter
9th February 1917
Private Eagleson,
110th Field Ambulance,
B.E.F. FRANCE
Dear Eagleson,
You will be sorry to hear Mr. Elliott died55 very suddenly just the evening before your letter arrived. I am sure he would have had great pleasure in reading it for he was always pleased to hear from our boys at the front and to learn how they were getting on.
I hope you are not suffering from the severe weather which seems to be almost universal all over Europe. We have had a bad spell of very hard frost here, but little snow.
I believe that Captain Coulson is going to marry a French girl some time in the near future.
I hope you will write to me from time to time and let me know where and how you are.
I remain,
Yours sincerely,
JBG
Acting Chief Librarian
