Pte. J. F. Eagleson
110th Field Ambulance
B. E. F., France

Dear Eagleson,

I received both your letter and Field Post Card and am glad to know you are quite well and in good form. You should have had a reply before now but I try to do all the letters to the Front at once, so I wait until there are three or four to answer: besides I am kept pretty busy just now doing Chief's work, Assistant's work and part of Miss Miller59 's work (she is lying in hospital since January with a broken leg.)

I had a letter from Fitzsimons yesterday. He is still well and very fit and evidently close to the Big Push as he mentions that they have a lot of German wounded in his clearing station and he has seen dozens of German prisoners. W. Brown, I have not heard of for some time and Roy is still invalided at Newcastle. Captain Simpson60 is out in France again with one of the Labour Companies. He never got quite better of the shell shock he had last year and is unfit for general service. The rest of the staff are all well: Lauder61 is in the Reference now, Mr Moore62 is still at Donegall Road.

I must conclude now with best wishes for your safety and success. Hoping to hear from you at your convenience.

I remain,

Yours sincerely,

JBG
Acting-Chief Librarian
