Dear Fitzsimons,

I hope this letter will find you at Limerick. I was very pleased to receive your letter (although undated), and to know that you are going on so successfully. Have you got your corporal's stripes yet? You seem to be thoroughly in love with your work, and this is half the battle. I am sure that the life you are living is agreeing with you and will make you all the better man.

I suppose you know that two others have left the library since your departure, namely - Trooper Wm. Brown, who is in training at Antrim, and Samuel Freeland from the Museum, who has joined the R.A.M.C and is at present at Aldershot, where you were yourself.

I shall be glad to hear from you at any time.

With kind regards,

I am,
Yours sincerely,

CHIEF LIBRARIAN

Private J. Fitzsimons,
No. 59670, R.A.M.C.
I Block,
