Dear Sir,

Your letter received this morning the 3rd inst. 163 . Herewith I append the answers to your queries. My Army Pay at commencement of service with H.M . Forces was 1s/2d per day. My present Army pay is 1s/6d per day as I am now receiving 4d per day extra as proficiency pay. The separation allowance received by my mother from the Government is as far as I can remember 6/- per week. The correct figure can be obtained from her, I know for certain it is not any more than this amount. I must add that mother provides me regularly with parcels containing necessaries. I hope Sir that you will find these answers satisfactory as I have answered them to the best of my ability.

Yours very truly,

Joe Fitzsimons
