Pte. J. Fitzsimons,
41st Casualty Clearing Station
B.E.F. FRANCE

Dear Fitzsimons,

I have neglected answering your letters for some time past, partly because we have been so very busy here and partly because I was waiting to answer three or four letters together.

Miss Miller176 is now in Botanic Avenue again and moving about a little by the aid of a stick but I do not expect she will be able to be in the Library again for perhaps another three months, however, we will be glad to see her whenever she does come.

Major Coulson is now acting in second in command of his battalion so he is doing very well and in his last letter he mentions meeting 2nd Lieut. Scilley177 who is now in the 10th R.I.R.

You will be sorry to hear that poor Warren got wounded again about the end of April, was taken prisoner and was last heard of in Cassel. Eagleson and Brown are still in France; Butler and Roy I am not sure about; they are very careless in keeping me informed of their whereabouts, and O'Rourke is trying to get into the navy.

I am sure you will be glad to hear that McCausland has just been appointed 2nd Lieut. in the 18th R.I.R. at Clandeboye. The rest of the people you know here are just as usual but we have got a lot of new hands since you were here and they are constantly changing.

In your last letter you promised me your impressions of the big advance. I hope you will soon have time to send them on to me. I hope that you are still liking your work and enjoying good health and comparative safety.

Drop me a few lines soon and let me know how things go with you.

I remain,
Yours sincerely,
JBG
