The Windsor Hotel,
Glasgow
8th July 1915
Dear Mr Elliott,
I hope that I have not delayed too long in writing to you but we have to work pretty hard, and have not much time to ourselves.
We have a running parade at 7 in the morning, home at a quarter to eight, then breakfast at 8.15. We then go the University at 9.30. It takes us about 20 or 25 minutes to go the University from the hotel where we are billeted.
We then drill and attend lectures until 1 o'clock, when we have luncheon which is served at the university. We resume our work at 2 o'clock which is another course of lectures & drill.
We are finished about a quarter to six, then back to the hotel, where dinner is served at 7 o'clock and is over about eight o'clock.
We generally write up our notes of the lectures after dinner, and do a little reading up on various military subjects as well.
So you see we have our time pretty full up, but now that the strangeness has worn off, I am enjoying it very much.
This course of instruction lasts until the 1st August, and then I expect to get a few days leave, and will be able to get over to Belfast, when I will call and report to you.
I now close by hoping that you are in the best of health, and remain.
Yours very sincerely,
M. Warren
