Ballymoney and Garvagh Libraries are hosting the Human Library Project, a unique and engaging event designed to foster connections within the community. In collaboration with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT) and as part of the Causeway Loneliness Network, this event offers a meaningful opportunity for people to reach out, break down barriers and connect with individuals in their local community that they might not normally engage wit.

The Human Library Project will take place in Ballymoney Library on Monday 16 September from 11:00 am to 12 noon and in Garvagh Library on Thursday 19 September from 2:30pm – 3:30pm. This interactive experience allows participants to spend time together and share their personal story and experiences. The goal is to create a safe space for open dialogue, enabling participants to learn from each other, challenge stereotypes, and build understanding across different walks of life.

"This event is a wonderful opportunity for people to connect with others in our community whom they might not normally engage with” said Brett Ramsey, Libraries NI District Officer.

“By bringing a variety of people together we hope to not only boost participants social wellbeing but also provide an environment where everyone can learn and spend time together. We hope this will give everyone the opportunity to build friendships and social connections with people of all ages helping to break down potential stereotypes for each other’s age group(s).”

The event is free and open to everyone. For more information, please contact Ballymoney Library on t:028 2766 3589 or email ballymoney.library@librariesni.org.uk
