Bangor Artist Shauna Fox Debuts First Solo Exhibition at Bangor Carnegie Library
Published 01 Apr 2025
Libraries NI is delighted to host local artist Shauna Fox’s first solo exhibition, Can Bangor Bounce Back? opening on Saturday 5 April in the Curve Gallery at Bangor Carnegie Library.
Running until Thursday 2 May, the exhibition features around 30 new paintings that explore the changing face of Bangor—past and present. Through vibrant, expressive works, Shauna reflects on the Bangor her parents once knew, the seaside town’s heyday as a bustling holiday destination, and the evolving urban landscape of today.
Can Bangor Bounce Back? encourages viewers to consider how their town is perceived, remembered, and reimagined. The paintings capture the tension between decline and hope, memory and progress, with warmth, honesty and a clear affection for place.
Entry is free during library opening hours. For more information, contact Bangor Carnegie Library on t: 028 9127 0591, e: bangorcarnegie.library@librariesni.org.uk or visit librariesni.org.uk.
