Published 11 Mar 2026
Libraries NI’s literary podcast Bookcited! is celebrating a major milestone with the release of its 100th episode, marking nearly one hundred conversations about the books, ideas and stories shaping what we are reading today.
Hosted by book loving librarians Jillian and Pete (The Book Club, BBC Radio 2), Bookcited! has become a regular destination for readers who enjoy thoughtful discussions about books, writing and the creative process. Across the series, the podcast has featured a wide range of acclaimed writers from Northern Ireland, the UK and beyond, offering listeners a unique insight into the ideas, inspirations and experiences behind their work.
Since its launch, Bookcited! has explored everything from debut fiction and bestselling novels to the craft of writing and the changing landscape of publishing. The podcast has welcomed celebrated authors, emerging voices and literary figures whose work continues to shape the reading lives of audiences across Northern Ireland.
The 100th episode provides an opportunity to reflect on the conversations, discoveries and recommendations that have defined the series so far, whilst also looking ahead to future episodes and new literary voices.
Conor McKee, Service Development Manager with Libraries NI said:
“Reaching 100 episodes is a wonderful milestone for the podcast. Every conversation is a chance to explore the stories behind the books and to hear directly from the writers who create them. It’s been a privilege to speak with so many talented authors and to share those conversations with listeners who love reading and it is fitting that the 100 episode milestone is reached during the National Year of Reading.”
As part of Northern Ireland’s public library service, Libraries NI continues to champion reading in all its forms. Through initiatives, events and digital platforms like Bookcited! libraries play an important role in bringing readers and writers together and encouraging people to discover new books.
